4 of 5 Good Value, Not top of line through Wednesday, October 15, 2008 A Customer from Orlando, FL
I've had it for a month or two and it works great this thing is freaking huge! I paid less than 170 shipped.
Pros: Large screen, good clarity, bright display. Worked out of the box no need to configure the monitor.
Cons: Standby light can be seen from space at night!! I have no idea why. The light blinks when in stand by and if it's in your bedroom you won't be able to sleep. It also has several dead pixels in a line near the top that it isn't very noticeable.
Overall, it's a good monitor that I would by again. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Good product at a great price Monday, October 13, 2008 Dave from West Des Moines, Iowa
Like many others, my monitor arrived with a few stuck pixels and one dead pixel. However, I was looking for a bigger LCD monitor at a rock-bottom price, and that is exactly what I found. The color and resolution is great, and the speakers, although small, are a nice plus. The only other con - no DVI cable included. Even with a few stuck pixels and no DVI cable, this monitor is a great deal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great bang for the buck Saturday, October 11, 2008 A Customer from Albuquerque, NM
I've been really tickled with its video quality after trying it with both VGA and DVI inputs. (Caveat: I'm not a gamer nor a real cineaste, just an office-type user, and can't speak at a connoisseur level to its response time or the blackness of the blacks or other such finer points.) No dead pixels or other defects that I've been able to notice.
Haven't tried the speakers (and don't intend to -- a speaker that small in an enclosure that thin can only be expected to be so good, after all).
All in all, a good 22" for a price I'd been looking at paying for a ~20". I'd buy it again and recommend that others put it on their short list. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Soyo 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor Saturday, October 11, 2008 Rajam Srinivasan from California
When I decided to go in for a Flat Panel monitor, I saw this very good deal in Buy.com. Without wasting time I bought this Soyo 22" Monitor. The installation was easy. It performs very well. I am happy with this purchase. I'll recommend my friends to go in for Soyo products. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good monitor for the price Saturday, October 11, 2008 Stuart Hill from Deming, NM
Like many of the other reviewers, I took had many stuck pixels on the monitor, but I can live with them. They are only noticeable on a black background. Otherwise, the monitor is very nice looking and has good definition and color. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A very nice budget monitor...budget price=budget q Saturday, October 11, 2008 Adam R. from Centreville, VA
I saw this monitor on sale and saw that it got decent reviews, so I thought I'd take the risk. The monitor I received did not have any dead pixels and it has a beautiful (and large!) display, so for the price I'm very pleased with it. The "4" rating I gave due to uneven backlighting (the right edge has a few "hot spots") and the quality of the casing and stand, which are rather flimsy. The built in speakers are totally useless, but I don't care since I have nice sub & speaker set up for my machine. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Value, can deal with some dead pixels Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Justin from Lancaster, PA
This is the absolute best value for a 22" monitor you will find, screen definition is great, looks cool, is surprisingly light. The only con that I have (like many others) is there is a vertical line of dead pixels on the top left of the screen, it isn't enough to make it not worth the price though, just slightly annoying. Worked great right out the box. I would recommend this product and Buy.com to everyone. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Does the job Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Gabriel Mendoza from Miami, Florida
For the price, this couldnt have come at a better time as ive been waiting for the 20"+ LCDs to drop below $175.
The only problem(s) im encountering are: 2 stuck pixels at the very top, almost dead center (only visible in when the screen is black). And my other problem seems to be a ghosting issue which can sometimes get bad and then i start auto adjusting and working settings to get it right... this is pretty annoying.
Other than that. I am very satisfied with my purchase and being that this was my first 22" monitor i must say i was surprised that it was bigger than i had expected (this is a good thing!) Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Right price for quality Wednesday, October 08, 2008 A Customer from White Lake, MI
First of all, there were no burned out or frozen pixels on the monitor. This was stated in many reviews, but no problem for me. The contrast ratio of 1000:1 does not create dark blacks and also creates shadowing around letters in word docs and emails. Nothing tragic, but it cannot be adjusted away.
Set up was easy, factory settings are decent with minimal adjusting required. Speakers are useless and would recommend not even plugging them in. When the monitor goes into sleep mode, the blue LED power indicator flashes like a light house endlessly. Picture quality is pretty good and overall for the money ($160) a decent monitor for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great item at a great price! Wednesday, October 08, 2008 CP from Marietta, GA
I ordered this particular 22" monitor based on the reviews of the item when researching it. The price was great, and the clarity is wonderful. It was quick and easy to set up, and I've noticed a great reduction on my eye strain since I am on the computer all day, and this is a terrific size. I highly recommend this monitor, an overall great buy, terrific performance, and I would definitely buy another one if the situation arises. I say go for it, you will not be disappointed at all. 5 of 5 Great Monitor Wednesday, October 08, 2008 A Customer from Gallipolis, OH
This is a wonderful monitor. Great size and great price. Picture quality is good and I could not find any dead pixels. The only complaint I have is a minor one. The controls on the monitor are small and located under the monitor face. They were a little hard to find as they are hidden from view. Otherwise I have no complaints and I am very satisfied. 5 of 5 Amazing for the Price Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Wayne from New York, NY
I don't know how they offer this so cheap as it's at least $100 less than any other 22" I have seen on the market. I with I ordered two of them because now they are sold out. I figured I would test one and see the quality before ordering another one which was a mistake because the quality is perfect. A steal for this price. I'm watching like a hawk to see if buy.com gets any more in for this price. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good buy Wednesday, October 08, 2008 JKS from Rock Hill, SC
I, as others, have the dead pixel problem. One bright green spot and a quarter inch red stripe at the top. Neither really affect things yet. If they get longer or bigger it could be a problem. Right now, it is very usable.

4 of 5 One thing to watch for... Tuesday, October 07, 2008 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
The first one I received had a few pixels that were stuck green at the top of the monitor in a vertical 1/4 line three inches from the right hand side. I returned the monitor for a replacement (that took way too long, but that's another story).
The replacement monitor has the same problem although not as pronounced. I decided that I could live with rather than go through the return or replacement procedure again.
Color is great, monitor looks cool. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good value for you money Tuesday, October 07, 2008 A Customer from Miami, FL
I bought this Soyo 22", already owned a Samsung 22" that I can compare against.
Pros: Price, price and price. And price.
Cons: Arrived with two dead pixels but you don't even notice them in regular use. When displaying a black background you still see some of the white backlight.
Conclusion: If are really picky and plan to do professional photography work do not get this monitor. But if you fall in the 99.99% of the users that really use internet/office/business applications/etc. (like I do) you cannot beat the value for the money. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not bad for the price Tuesday, October 07, 2008 A Customer from Atlanta, GA
Bought two of these. Both had short (8 to 10 px) single lines of dead green pixels at the top of the screen. All other specs are good. Good contrast, onboard menu is comprehensive and auto setup works well with a variety of systems. I'd probably buy another one at this price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent value Tuesday, October 07, 2008 A Customer from Linden, MI
I'd been looking for a good deal on a 20+ inch LCD monitor, and I found it with this one. There were no issues with dead pixels and I'm extremely please with the picture quality. An earlier review had commented on the bright blue power indicator, and it is distractingly bright. But my monitor is surrounded with sticky notes, so I just placed one over the light. You can still see the light through the sticky note, but it's muted perfectly. Was this review helpful?    |
