5 of 5 sweet machine and a great deal Monday, November 17, 2008 Sam from Costa Mesa, CA
This computer is pretty much new--it had a new keyboard, and mouse and there was no marring of the cosmetic finish on the chassis. Like one of the other reviewers, if the box didn't say refurbished I might not have known--oh yeah, except buy.com said it was a refurb ;)
Everything works and runs greats. One thing to be aware of--the recovery discs do not come with the machine but rather are staged to have the machine create them. Make sure you do this ahead of time...if you wait until you need them it's too late! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great PC Wednesday, October 22, 2008 al from Richboro, PA
This is a great, quiet computer!
It is very fast, which is what i wanted.
My only problem is with Vista and the HP "Adviser".
Something pops up every time you start the pc.
I have managed to quiet most of them, but it can be annoying.
Buy.com is the best!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Sweet! Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Ted from Brick, NJ
Ordered Monday with free shipping. Arrived today (Wednesday). Looked brand new. Except for the "refurb" on the box, I would have never known (of course I knew when I ordered). Perfect condition!
Received it at work. Spend a couple hours running the updates. Have a long weekend coming so I will be doing a lot of playing (and uninstalling/installing). But at this point in time I could not be happier! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great price for quad core 5GB memory Monday, October 06, 2008 anonymous from NJ
Bought this machine for teenage kid. Very quiet machine. Things I liked are quad core, 5 GB of memory (which is the key for great performance). Things I wish it had was a built in wifi card, but more importantly would be nice for hp to supply the recovery DVDs. You are expected to burn the recovery DVDs yourself (which I strongly recommend everyone -- keep in mind the machine warranty is 3 months only!). The VGA port is disabled since there is a graphics card (i.e., you must connect the monitor to port at the bottom and not the VGA). Vista has occasional bumps and didn't boot couple of times, but that is Vista's problem anyways. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very satisfied with purchase so far Monday, September 29, 2008 rockcicak from San Jose, CA
The one I got looks and works perfectly out of the box. My family love it and would fight for using this new one. With such configurations, it could last for a few more years. A little tricky part is the Vista itself. Some software installations will fail on this system, could not install driver for my Olympus P-11 printer, (so set it as a network printer now), while the other 2 printers find their drivers within Vista package and no installation CDs are needed. Googled net a while to find correct software to set up logitech game mouse, to find how to set up local network with my other machines in XP. After those initial work, Vista is a charming system to work with and guess you could only feel its beauty on such a high-end machine. :) The included video card shown on screen is 9400, seems work good enough for my games, well I am not an extreme game fan. Now when a new game starts, I am always the first one to finish loading, with my older computer ( 3-4 years old ), I am always the last one. :P Was this review helpful?

5 GB memory, quad processor, 750 GB disk for $550 - a deal that's hard to beat. Arrived almost instantly (3 days after ordering) even though I opted for free standard shipping. Vista 64-bit. CD/DVD cable was not plugged in - had to open the box to see & fix it after PC did not show an installed CD/DVD drive. Not many craplets thankfully. 3 video ports - 1 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA. After 4 days of ownership, I'm very satisfied with the hardware and learning the eccentricities of Vista. Was this review helpful?
