3 of 5 it works a little Wednesday, October 22, 2008 A Customer from kc,ks
i bought this to use on my media center computer to get the digital local channels.(i have it hooked up to standard cable). prior to getting this, i had an old fashioned set of rabbit ears from an old tv set hooked up and they actually worked better. i get the same channels i did with the rabbit ears, but they seem to disappear more often with the amplified antenae. Have not tried it on a tv. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not a bad antenna, Monday, September 01, 2008 americantexan999 from Spring, TX
it greatly improved my reception of most channels, but it disappointed me because it still wouldn't keep the signal, ie. the ATSC channels would flicker on and off. But it is much better than my old antenna, this would probably be a great buy for anyone who has decent reception in their house, my room is strange, in every other room i can pull in channels 60 miles away (our TV towers are 30mi away) but in my room i can barely get the 30mi towers. Wonderful antenna, GE's tv electronics are usually very good quality, this is no exeption Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 for us, wasn't better than rabbit ears Sunday, August 31, 2008 A Customer from Columbus, Ohio
If you already have rabbit ears, you might not find an improvement with this antenna. We still have a few channels that we get in analog but can't in digital.
I don't like the bright blue LED light on the front pointing at you, indicating only that it is plugged in. Sure, you could put a piece of tape over the light, but they could have just left that out.
Also, I hadn't noticed at first there is still a single extender rabbit-ear like antenna on this that you have to use. So, you still have that added decoration in your living room, which I was hoping to eliminate.
But, if you don't already have an antenna this does the job, although you do have to plug it in and pay a little more up front for that. It may really be very beneficial in rural areas, I cannot speak to that, but the signal boost was no use in town.

4 of 5 Does the job Wednesday, August 06, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
This antenna has only a gain of 20db so it does not provide as strong a signal as other antennas might, but despite that, the antenna performed acceptably in the NYC area. All the local over-the-air channels came in with a signal strength of around 30-50%. The quirky thing I found when trying to improve the signal was that it was the best when the antenna was laid flat on the floor instead of standing up. Was this review helpful?
