This was my first wireless router. I have AT&T dsl service and I heard horror stories about their wireless routers. I bought this based on the price. All N routers I saw were well over $100. This was a great price for this router, especially with the $35 rebate. This router works great. I have now had this for about 3 weeks and it has not dropped off once. The speed is great and very consistent. The difficult part was the installation. Especially since this was the first wireless router I ever installed. IP address was my problem. But once I installed it I have not had any problems. Was this review helpful?

The only problem is that the range is not as long as expected. I put it on the 2nd floor, I only got 1-3 bars in the basement and the signal was not stable. When I tried different direction of the adaptor, it worked better.

Now that it is installed, it works well. It was a killer to get working, with close to three hours on the phone to finally get it working. (My computer is set up to use IBM ThinkVantage to connect to wireless sources, and I believe that ultimately was the barrier. We worked through that finally). The package gives no service number to call; email got a response after the weekend, and the two people I talked with were smart and incredibly patient in talking me through the setup. The first one, however, when we got to 5 PM West coast time, said that's when they close and proposed then arranged to talk the next day. That's a first.
I bought the unit to upgrade from 811.b, and get more range. The range is better, though not startingly so. And the unit is very sleek looking. Great price with refund...
