| | | | Product Guides | | | | The RangePlus Wireless Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.
The Access Point built into the Router uses smart antenna technology to achieve extended range. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, the "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless-G.
With MIMO, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are MIMO enabled, the router can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band. But unlike other speed-enhanced technologies, the RangePlus Wireless Router can dynamically enable this double-speed mode for compatible devices, while still connecting to other wireless devices at their respective fastest speeds.
To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 256-bit encryption. It can serve as your network's DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Linksys RangePlus Wireless Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games, and run media-intensive applications at incredible speeds, without the hassle of stringing wires!

| | Tech Reviews | | Linksys WRT100 RangePlus Wireless G Broadband Router Review By: Martin Regtien - DigitalReviews.net Published on: 4/30/2008 11:13 PM | | One of the good things about ordering a router from Linksys is the confidence you can have in their product line when it comes to anything to do with wireless technology. Their stuff just works. And reliability is more important than good looks or having possibly all the features you could have. Not that the box is ugly, far from it but it is rather plain and utilitarian. It doesn't draw attention to itself and that might even be a good thing. ...read the full review |

5 of 5 Stylish Product Wednesday, October 15, 2008 J from Andy, AL
The WRT110 was a substitution for the WRT100 I ordered. Nice design. Not quite the range boost I had hoped for (needed bit more outdoor range). Overall is a great product compared to my old WRT54G Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Ordered WRT100 but got WRT110.... Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Frank from East Brunwick, New Jersey
....not to worry. The WRT110 was easy to install and configure. The whole process took only 10 minutes and I never set up a wireless router before. The unit was delivered much faster than I expected too. The performance of this device has been outstanding. I have been using it to connect 2 laptops and a desktop for 2 weeks now without an issue.
