I'm using the 4 GB memory stick in a Sony Alpha a700 digital SLR, so performance is a factor. When taking shots in burst mode, I can get 13 pictures before the camera slows down. With a Sandisk 30 MBps Extreme 3 CF card, I can get 21 pictures in a row, and the camera doesn't slow down nearly as much after that. Based on how fast the buffer is written to disk, I'm guessing the CF card is about 3 times faster than the Sony memory stick.
However, I got what I expected, which was a cheap way of storing 4 GB in the extra slot of my camera. If I run out of room on my primary card I can switch to the memory stick without having to open up the camera. So, I give the card a 5 on value and a 3 on performance. Was this review helpful?
