| Amazing unit. As another reviewer said, the shipping box looked like it went through some rough times but the unit was in great shape. Very powerful, running a full home office with about 6 devices on it, including a fully loaded PC and the load is at 11% with close to 2 hours battery time! I greatly recommend it. It solved a power problem for me.

| Just recently build a new PC with a Quad 6600 and GeForce 8800 Ultra. 2 Raptors and a 1000W power supply.
My old APC XS 1000 was loaded at about 80% when my PC is full load so it was time for me to get a new APC since I got the older for about 5 years.
This Smart-UPS 1500 (DLA1500) is the same unit as the SUA1500. This UPS is doing everything I wanted AVR (TRIM) AVR (BOOST) so full AVR will prevent most of the time to go on the battery.
To use the full potential of the UPS is to install the Powerchute Business Edition (don't install from the CD in the box) Go to APC and download the latest version. Their is also an update for Vista. You need to install all 3 modules to make everything to work.
The only thing that could be better on this UPS is fan noise. They could use a bigger fan (120mm) with slower RPM to reduce the noise.
The fan only start when UPS is on battery, during self-test and when charging battery.

| Ordered this at 10:00 pm 08/14/07. Received it at 11:02 A.M. 08/17/2007. The shipping box looked like it was tired. No dents, dings or scratches on the UPS though. I bought this to replace an older APC UPS that I was using with my old PC. It could not provide enough power for my new PC. This unit is only lighting up the 1st load indicator of 5 so I think it's got enough juice. I'm pleased with this purchase and TD's fast shipping. |

| The APC 1500 with PC (only) programmable over and under voltage limits and a low pass filter performs quite satisfactorily when a motor generator (such as a Guadian 15KW) provides the power. Don't make the mistake of trying a UPS not explicitly ''generator rated'' if you use the generally noisy and fluctuating power output of a motor-generator as a primary backup. |
